1. Data stored on your device

Your settings and personal lists normally remain in the local storage of your device.

• No account: Registration is not required.
• Local lists: Saved and read articles, followed topics, regions and sources, Zine selections and preferences are stored locally.
• Your control: Local data can be exported or deleted from the app menu.

2. Translation, summaries and audio

Only after you select a corresponding function may the required article text and settings be sent to the protected project infrastructure and the service used for that function. Automatic results are labelled and the original remains accessible.

3. Service providers and technical protection

Cloudflare delivers the project service and processes request metadata, including the IP address, to prevent misuse. The app code does not store the IP address. Requested translations may be processed by Google Gemini or Hugging Face; natural speech by Microsoft Azure Speech. Generated audio is kept in private Cloudflare R2 storage and delivered through the project service.

4. Feedback

When you send feedback directly, its category, app language, message, optional reply email and a random reference are kept in a private inbox for no more than 90 days. No reading history or advertising identifier is attached. Quote the reference in a deletion request if you want an earlier removal.

5. Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you delete it. Generated podcasts are automatically removed after 30 days and direct feedback after no more than 90 days. A push subscription remains until notifications are turned off. Technical request metadata is subject to the provider’s limited security and operations retention.

6. External sources and media

Opening an original article, map, route, stream, video, PayPal or email leaves the app or contacts an external provider. External media do not start automatically. The provider’s own privacy rules then apply.

7. Device permissions

Functions such as nearby events use a permission only after your request. Location-based filtering is calculated on the device; World Revolution News does not create a central movement profile.

8. Optional notifications

Only after your explicit permission is a pseudonymous push endpoint stored with the selected topics, regions, quiet hours, language and time zone. No reading history or article text is sent. Turning notifications off removes the subscription.

9. Changes and contact

This notice is updated when relevant functions or services change. Questions, corrections and security reports can be sent to worldrevnews@brief.li.
