The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) İmralı Delegation met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on Thursday.

During the meeting, which lasted approximately one hour and 40 minutes, the participants discussed the "Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion" that Parliament passed three days ago.

National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Director İbrahim Kalın and AKP Deputy Chair Efkan Ala also attended the meeting.

The DEM Party İmralı Delegation is expected to issue a statement on the meeting later today.

Speaking to the press before the meeting, Pervin Buldan said: "We have several issues on our agenda which we will try to address in a written statement. Of course, everything that has happened, the expectations, and what needs to be done will be among these issues. Meetings have been held at every stage after a certain point, but we have now entered a new phase. We want to emphasize the importance of this meeting following the vote on the law in Parliament. The process must move forward quickly. We do not want it to be dragged out over time and become derailed. We believe this must not be allowed to happen. We believe progress needs to be made. We hope to achieve a result as soon as possible."
