Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. Sunday to a report of gunshots in the area of 68th Street, and that a man with a firearm could be seen inside a home.

Police closed off the area around the home and established communication with the man, who ultimately surrendered and was taken into custody at about 11:45 a.m.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

The man is facing three firearms charges relating to careless use and firing a weapon with the intend to injure a person, as well as a mischief charge.

He is scheduled to appear in Iqaluit court Aug. 17.
